The first Azerbaijani 20 km/h speed limit has been introduced around a school in the city of Sumgayit, following advocacy by the National Automobile Club of Azerbaijan (AMAK), supported by EASST, FIA Foundation, and FIA Road Safety Grants.
Speed limits around more than 100 Kyrgyz schools have been reduced to 30km/h in a pilot to improve child road safety following advocacy from Child Health Initiative partner Eastern Alliance for Safe and Sustainable Transport (EASST) and local partner NGO, Public Association ‘Road Safety’ (PARS).
In Mongolia, the FIA Foundation joined partners Eastern Alliance for Safe and Sustainable Transport (EASST) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in a special road safety roundtable and the launch of a new child road safety programme.
A Regional Road Safety Summit has been hosted in Tbilisi, Georgia, by EASST and the FIA Foundation to focus political attention and commitment in the lead up to the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety.
EASST’s local partner the National Road Safety Council NGO (NRSC), organised Armenia’s first-ever multi-stakeholder dialogue on road safety and low-speed school zones, with support from the FIA Foundation.
