This report from FIA Foundation and authored by investment experts at Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation reframes road safety as essential for ensuring a return for investors in transport infrastructure. Too often, effective financing for road safety is not available. This report seeks to address the gap in financing globally on road safety, setting out a way that investors can secure faster more reliable returns while saving lives.

The 2025 Annual Report details the charity’s impact in the fields of road safety, environmental sustainability and safe motor sport over the five years from 2021-25, and highlights some of the activities undertaken during 2025, including the first TRUE emissions testing in Africa, collaboration with F1 drivers and FIA clubs for child safety, and initiatives for safer roads and vehicles.

In far too many countries road traffic injuries and fatalities are increasing. We need to accelerate progress in delivering road safety around the world and for this, financing is critical. Yet too often, even when financing is available for roads and transportation, effective road safety is not the outcome. ‘Life Support’ presents the priority actions needed in order to strengthen financing and deliver results through to 2030.

The report outlines the advancement that has been made by Child Health Initiative partners since the 3rd Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety in Stockholm in 2020. It highlights the major achievements in programmatic and advocacy work, our evolving strategic focus, and our way forward towards the second half of the Decade of Action for road safety.
