This report from FIA Foundation and authored by investment experts at Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation reframes road safety as essential for ensuring a return for investors in transport infrastructure. Too often, effective financing for road safety is not available. This report seeks to address the gap in financing globally on road safety, setting out a way that investors can secure faster more reliable returns while saving lives.

The 2025 Annual Report details the charity’s impact in the fields of road safety, environmental sustainability and safe motor sport over the five years from 2021-25, and highlights some of the activities undertaken during 2025, including the first TRUE emissions testing in Africa, collaboration with F1 drivers and FIA clubs for child safety, and initiatives for safer roads and vehicles.

In far too many countries road traffic injuries and fatalities are increasing. We need to accelerate progress in delivering road safety around the world and for this, financing is critical. Yet too often, even when financing is available for roads and transportation, effective road safety is not the outcome. ‘Life Support’ presents the priority actions needed in order to strengthen financing and deliver results through to 2030.

The report outlines the advancement that has been made by Child Health Initiative partners since the 3rd Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety in Stockholm in 2020. It highlights the major achievements in programmatic and advocacy work, our evolving strategic focus, and our way forward towards the second half of the Decade of Action for road safety.

An investigation into the health costs of motorcycle taxi crashes in Kenya. This study sets out to understand helmet usage, and the scale and impact of motorcycle related deaths and injuries, to highlight the urgent need for immediate action to strengthen the enforcement of the Kenyan motorcycle helmet standard to help reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries linked to low helmet prevalence.

This is the latest update of the GFEI benchmarking report looking at the specific fuel consumption of light-duty vehicles (LDVs). It focuses on changes between 2019 and 2022, in particular the impact of Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and electric vehicle (EV) market changes.

The FIA Foundation Financial Statements for 2022.

This report by US research body ITS UC Davis and the UK Government’s ZEV Transition Council (ZEVTC), supported by the FIA Foundation examines the status of zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) uptake across the world and considers how to accelerate the transition as part of emergency measures to avoid a climate catastrophe. Recommendations include the need to recognise the varied levels of ZEV policies across the Global South, to appreciate the profound need for equitable funding, and secure collective global buy-in to address the global challenge.

This report from the World Bank’s Sustainable Urban Mobility for All (SUM4All) gender working group was the results of pioneering research undertaken by POLIS & Heather Allen and funded by FIA Foundation, which examined existing data and conducted in-depth interviews and polling to build a comprehensive global snapshot of lived experiences of women working in the transport sector.

Adolescent girls’ journeys to access sexual health services in four countries across Africa are often expensive, dangerous, and inaccessible. This report from Girl Effect identifies the key changes needed to improve equitable access.

At a time when an increased uptake of sustainable mobility is vital for climate, health and air quality reasons, this report examines why women in Nairobi, Kenya are less keen than men to cycle. Based on a study by the NGO Flone Initiative, and drawing on front-line evidence from women in the city, it also outlines key measures to reverse this trend.

The FIA Foundation reports on its charitable activities during 2021, including participating in COP26 to argue for cleaner vehicles and investment in zero carbon travel; campaigning for ‘Streets for Life with the United Nations; supporting motor sport safety research and programmes; and providing grants to UNICEF and IFRC to support equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.
