Exporting Pollution: Dumping Dirty Fuels and Vehicles in Africa

The FIA Foundation partners with the United Nations Environment Programme through the Partnership for Clean Fuels & Vehicles (PCFV) and the Global Initiative for Child Health & Mobility to reduce the health burden of air pollution from vehicles. The PCFV supports governments and other public authorities with technical advice and expertise and since 2003 has succeeded in eliminating lead from fuel in all but a handful of countries and is leading efforts to reduce sulphur content in fuel to enable cleaner engine technologies.
