Bernard Tay

Mr Bernard Tay is the President of the Automobile Association of Singapore and Chairman of the Singapore Road Safety Council (SRSC). He is also serving as a Justice of the Peace appointed by the President of The Republic of Singapore.

Mr Tay is the Chairman of the Military Transport Safety Review Panel (Ministry of Defence) and a member of the Active Mobility Advisory Panel (Ministry of Transport). In recognition of his commendable public services in Singapore, Mr Tay receives various public service awards. He is a recipient of the Ministry for Home Affairs National Day Award, Service to Education Awards and Community Long Service Medals. He was conferred the Public Service Star (Bar), Public Service Star and Public Service Medal by the President of The Republic of Singapore.

Mr Tay is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of Crowe Horwath First Trust LLP, a Non-Executive Director of ONERHT Foundation, a council member of RHT GRACE Institute and an Independent Non-Executive Chairman of RHT Capital Pte Ltd.

Mr Tay is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (U.K), the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and the Singapore Institute of Directors. He is also a Chartered Accountant of Malaysia. He has a wide range of experience, from having worked in public accounting firms in the United Kingdom and Singapore, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore and companies in commerce, industry and management consulting for over 40 years. He has served many years as Independent Non-Executive Director of Companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Singapore and Hong Kong.

Mr Tay had served as President of FIA Region II (Asia and the Pacific) and as a member of the FIA Nominating Committee. Currently he is a Vice-President of FIA Region II (Asia and the Pacific) and a member of the FIA’s World Council for Automobile Mobility and Tourism. He is also the first Asian to serve as a member of the FIA Audit Committee.
