Anton Roux is a senior corporate business leader based in Johannesburg, South Africa, with extensive experience at Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer level, primarily within the financial services industry.

A Chartered Accountant by profession, Anton has pursued a distinguished career outside traditional accounting practice. He has established himself as a respected and effective leader within the South African financial services sector, recognised for his ability to successfully lead complex organisations while maintaining a strong focus on people, culture, and stakeholder engagement.

Anton’s financial services expertise and corporate acumen have enabled him to work effectively with a wide range of national and international stakeholders, including those in listed company environments in New York and Johannesburg, as well as private equity funds and portfolio investors. He has led and overseen multiple constituent businesses across sub-Saharan Africa, managing diverse teams and cultures while balancing the expectations of US- and UK-based stakeholders. Anton has also served as Chairman of a company based in Israel.

He currently serves as Non-Executive Chairman of the Risk and Audit Committees for all insurance operations within the FirstRand Group, where his primary focus is on strengthening corporate governance and oversight across the Group’s insurance businesses.

In addition, Anton was appointed Non-Executive Chairman of Motorsport South Africa NPC in 2019 and served two terms as President of Motorsport South Africa NPC. He was also a member of the FIA Senate from 2021 to 2025.

Anton has been involved in motorsport for more than 35 years, participating in various capacities including official, team manager, and competitor (by his own admission, not a particularly strong one). He also owns a business specialising in the restoration and servicing of Porsche vehicles.
