More than 3000 people are killed on the world’s roads every day, the majority in poorer countries.

Road deaths in middle and low income countries are predicted to increase by 80% by the year 2020 unless action is taken now.

Each death represents the loss of a father, wife, son, daughter, brother or sister.

Each death affects whole families and communities, often robbing poorer families of their only breadwinner and their only route out of poverty.

Current international efforts to address road safety are minimal in comparison to this growing human suffering.

The FIA Foundation is campaigning for the international community, the United Nations, the G8, to do more to combat road traffic injuries, particularly in developing countries.

As part of our Think Before You Drive campaign, we are asking people to Think Global.

You can Think Global and join the campaign by signing our online petition for safer roads; by wearing a red Think wristband to show your support for our campaign; and by contacting your political representative to demand action on road safety at home and abroad.
