The Automobile Club (FIB), Road Traffic Directorate and the Traffic Police in Iceland joined forces to bring home the safety messages of the Think campaign. Each of the 105,000 households on the island received the Think leaflet in their mailboxes and every traffic police car was kitted out with tyre gauges and leaflets during the last two weeks of July in preparation of what is usually known to be a first “black” week in August in terms of road traffic accidents. The music festivals that take place then bring more car traffic on the roads and every year an average of three persons are killed and some more injured. This year however people arrived home safely.
