Think campaign in Argentina until end 2007

On 15 August, the Automobile Club of Argentina ACA gathered all sectors in Argentina with an interest in road safety at its headquarters in Buenos Aires to present the Think campaign. Governmental and provincial authorities, automotive sector companies, motor sport, road safety related organisations and the media were all there. Dr Juan Manuel Sandberg Haedo, President of the automobile club, Dr Daniel Benvenutti, Vice-President of Bridgestone-Firestone Argentina and Ing. Rafael Sierra, Honorary President of the Permanent Road Safety Commission of the Automobile Club explained that road safety campaign activities will be held until the end of 2007.

The campaign was also promoted at the exhibition “Autoclasica” held from 15 to 17 September which attracted thousands of enthusiasts and at a road safety seminar at the city Rosario from 27 to 29 September.

Campaign materials will be distributed by the automobile club ACA in Capital Federal and the Buenos Aires area using its extended network: the ACA driving school Juan Manuel Fangio and the driving courses given to companies; schools and road traffic education parks for children. The campaign will be promoted with a special campaign team and the Think crash test dummy at road safety conferences, inaugurations of new ACA offices, launch events of new products and services and the club will tour a seat belt slide offered by Bridgestone/Firestone Argentina to tourism centres and seaside resorts.

These activities with the seat belt slide demonstrations will continue in 2007, focusing on some events that attract large audiences such as the Rally Internacional in Córdoba, the wine festival in Mendoza (Feria de Vendímia), the international cattle market of La Rural (Feria Internacional de Ganadería) and the International book fair of La Rural, as well as the automobile club’s seaside resort at Punta Mogotes (Ciudad de Mar del Plata) and its aquatics centre Centro Náutico Delta in Benavides, in the Province of Buenos Aires.
