The Slovenian Automobile Association of Slovenia (AMZS) launched the Think before you Drive campaign at a press conference in Ljubljana on 4th April. Club President Boris Perko presented the campaign booklet, which was also distributed to the club’s 120,000 members through its magazine Motoreijva. But the club wishes to reach a wider motoring public in Slovenia and has incorporated the Think before you Drive messages in a national campaign called “Family Hours” that will run in eight large cities for the next two months. The AMZS Family Hours target not only drivers but all the members of the family and demonstration events take place at big shopping centres. For this Think before you Drive edition, club experts will demonstrate how to correctly fix a child restraint, perform tyre safety checks on cars at the visitors parking and explain the significance of regular tyre checks. The club will also bring the campaign safety messages to the homes of families with programmes on national media and smaller local radio stations. Over the years, the AMZS has built a strong relationship with the press and radio stations now bring up road safety issues and run special road safety programmes in collaboration with technical club experts who give advice on different topics and answer questions from the listeners.
