Martial arts World Champion Diana Fauner has become the latest sports celebrity to endorse the Make Roads Safe campaign.

Diana, who also happens to work for the FIA Foundation at our office in London, won the Gold Medal in the recent Doce Pares World Championships held in Cebu, Philippines, in July. Diana was representing the Great Britain team at the championships. Doce Pares is a Filipino martial art, known as eskrima or arnis, which focuses on stick fighting, knife defense and empty hands. Diana won Gold in the Single Stick category, beating opponents from the Philippines and India. Diana also won Bronze in the Single stick freestyle forms event.

David Ward, FIA Foundation Director General, said: “We are delighted to have a real-life World Champion in our midst. Diana often brings her sticks to work and leans them behind her desk. She finds that work colleagues rarely disagree with her! She is also a committed road safety campaigner, working on our global Make Roads Safe campaign for the past two years. Everyone at the FIA Foundation congratulates Diana on her Gold Medal success.”
