As part of the FIA Foundation’s fuel economy programme, and following a major fuel economy symposium organised in Paris earlier this year the FIA Foundation is sponsoring a pre-event at Better Air Quality 2008 in Bangkok in November.
The BAQ 2008 conference is the largest of its kind in the region, and will attract many hundreds of key experts in the fields of air quality and sustainable transport.
The pre-event – which is also being supported by the International Energy Agency, International Transport Forum, UN Environment Programme and Clean Air Initiative-Asia aims to explore and compare policy approaches towards improving LDV fuel economy from around the globe, and to consider how best to develop a coherent regional approach to the issue.
Sheila Watson, Director of Environment at the FIA Foundation said “There is real potential to make a huge contribution to curbing CO2 emissions globally via greater fuel economy. In sponsoring this event, the FIA Foundation is particularly interested in establishing partnerships and networks for future work on this topic in the region, and globally, and would encourage anyone attending the BAQ 2008 event to find the time to attend and participate.”
