Iceland has been urged to support a UN conference on road safety at a briefing organised by the country’s automobile association.
Iceland’s Minister of Transport and Communications, Kristján Möller, and senior road safety officials attended the FIB event near Reykjavik, where they heard the latest progress on Euro RAP assessment of the country’s roads. The FIA Foundation’s Deputy Director, Saul Billingsley, also briefed the minister and the high level audience on the Make Roads Safe campaign and called on Iceland to support the proposal for a UN ministerial conference when the issue is debated at the UN in March 2008.
