The World Health Organisation’s helmet initiative website, which promotes crash helmet use to bicycle and motorcycle users, has won a prestigious road safety award.
The Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals (CARSP) voted the Helmet Initiative website best international road safety website, as part of its awards scheme recognising online road safety activities. The Helmet Initiative is supported by the FIA Foundation as part of its major funding of the WHO five year road traffic injury prevention strategy. The website can be viewed at www.whohelmets.org. It provides advice and information on the safety benefits of wearing helmets, and is intended to be a global online resource supporting helmet campaigners.
