The FIA Foundation’s crash test dummy has featured in adverts on television in South Africa. The dummy, which has been used to promote seat belt use in South Africa by the Automobile Association of South Africa, featured in three short films produced by the FIA Foundation on the SABC2 TV channel during April 2005. The films were shown in English and Afrikaans. The three road safety films were also short listed for an award at the prestigious New York Festival earlier this year.
The crash test dummy is now the lead icon for the FIA Foundation’s new road safety campaign, Think Before You Drive, which will be launched in several African countries during 2005.
