Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher today backed World Health Day 2004, dedicated for the first time to road safety, at the launch of the European Road Safety Charter in Dublin.
Together with FIA President Max Mosley, Michael Schumacher was a key note speaker at the event in Dublin organised by the Irish Government. More than thirty organisations were invited to sign the European Road Safety Charter, watched by transport ministers from all the EU member states.
Michael Schumacher commented: ‘Road safety is a vital concern for everyone. Initiatives like the European Road Safety Charter and World Health Day are important because they can raise the profile of road safety and help to improve safety standards’.
