The FIA Foundation has received an award at the centenary celebrations of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in Paris.

FIA Foundation Chairman Rosario Alessi accepted a trophy from FIA President Max Mosley on behalf of the Foundation at a gala dinner held in the Louvre to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the FIA, the world federation of automobile associations and the world governing body of motor sport. The thirteen founding national automobile clubs of the FIA were presented with awards at the ceremony, together with the two newest additions to the FIA family: the Foundation, established by the FIA in 2001, and the FIA Institute for Motor Sport Safety, established by the FIA and the FIA Foundation in 2004. Professor Sid Watkins, President of the FIA Institute joined Mr Alessi and Mr Mosley on the stage for the awards. A short film shown at the dinner highlighted the role of the FIA Foundation in promoting road safety around the world.
