The Italian Automobile Club, ACI, has launched its World Health Day 2004 campaign with the slogan: April 7 – No casualties on the road.

ACI is contacting its 1 million+ members, trade associations, trade unions, banks, sports federations, voluntary organisations, schools and universities to encourage them to take part in the initiative.

T-shirts, posters and adhesive pins, to be put on jacket’s lapels, will display the message of the campaign. This material will be distributed to all the campaign partners throughout Italy.

ACI are getting in touch with the major television channels, in order to have some space devoted to the campaign within their programmes schedule. On Sunday April 4 all the Italian football teams will wear either a shirt or a scarf displaying the campaign slogan, while in catholic churches there will be a special prayer inviting everybody to be careful when on the roads on April 7.

The automobile club is contacting transport companies, in order to have buses circulating with big posters displaying the slogan of the campaign, while a short road safety film will be shown in Warner Bros’ cinemas, as well as on other cinema screens, on April 7th.
