This year's 17th International AIT Traffic Education Contest was a great success and was attended by a large number of children from different countries and backgrounds.

The Final of the 17th AIT European Traffic Education Contest was held from 20/23 September in Winterthur, Switzerland at the invitation of the Touring Club Suisse.

Twenty-four Clubs from 22 countries participated in the event with almost 100 children involved in the competition. Several different practical and theoretical exercises were carrried out by the teams. The winning trophy was taken home by the host team (TCS) followed by the AMZS from Slovenia. The third place was shared by the BIHAMK, Bosnia Herzegovina and the LAMB, Latvia.

The event was organised by the TCS with financial support by the FIA Foundation and Renault, Switzerland. The event was extensively covered by the press, in particular by television stations from Eastern and Central Europe.
