Deaths from road accidents, along with cancer and heart disease are set to soar over the next 20 years as developing populations get richer, according to the WHO's new World Health Statistics report. The top line from the report is that the shift by 2030 will be that road crashes along with 'noncommunicable' diseases will account for three quarters of all deaths. The research provides further confirmation of the need for a comprehensive global policy framework to address the road deaths crisis as a priority.
